I know, I know it has been a while since you have heard from me. A little over 5 months actually. So life has been a little busy the past five months.
I guess what you are probably wondering is how much have I lost so far. Well, I haven't been to the doctor since November due to scheduling conflicts, but according to my scales I have lost between 45 and 50lbs! :) My next visit with the doctor is on February 5th and I expect that I will be due for a fill. I will be sure to update you on that as well as my exact progress.
One problem that I have known of myself when it comes to eating is that I am an emotional eater and having surgery doesn't fix that problem. The past few months have been an emotional roller coaster for me. Suffering the loss of both of my grandmothers, one of which practically helped raise me, was very difficult. Then of course the first Thanksgiving and Christmas without my grandmother and only the 2nd Thanksgiving and Christmas without my mom made the holiday's an emotional eater's dream come true.
One thing with having weight loss surgery is that there are some foods (cheese dip, popcorn, candy, etc.) and drinks (sweet tea, mtn. dew, etc.) for that matter that aren't of high nutritional value that will pass through oh so easily, especially a lot of the sweets that are offered around the holidays. I have also become lax and started eating a lot of the 'easy' foods instead of the more solid foods that I should be eating.
I ask that each of you that read my blog to please keep me in your prayers during the days ahead.
You will hear from me again after my next appointment on February 5th.
